Econolite Appoints Eric Raamot Chief Technology Officer

Anaheim, Calif., December 14, 2017 – Econolite today announced it has appointed Eric Raamot to Chief Technology Officer (CTO), reporting directly to Econolite President and COO Abbas Mohaddes. Raamot succeeds Econolite Senior VP and CTO Gary Duncan, who will retire effective December 31, 2017. Raamot, previously Econolite VP of Engineering, will assume the CTO position beginning January 1, 2018. Duncan will remain in an executive advisory role for the Company.

Raamot has worked closely with Duncan to help ensure a seamless transition. “Eric’s industry vision and proven track record of successfully integrating technological innovations into commercially viable solutions that help our customers enhance safety and efficiencies is an invaluable asset,” said Mohaddes. “Eric has been preparing for this role, and we are pleased he has accepted this position.”

Raamot has served as Econolite’s VP of Engineering since 2004, managing the Company’s hardware and software development operations, as well as many embedded products. Prior to being appointed VP of Engineering, Raamot was Econolite’s Director of Systems Engineering where he was instrumental in developing the industry’s most widely deployed Advanced Transportation Management System software – Centracs® ATMS.

“I want to express my sincerest gratitude to Gary for his 45 years of service and leadership at Econolite and the transportation management industry as a whole,” said Mohaddes. “Gary was instrumental in so many of our industry’s standards and technological advancements, including the communications standards for connected vehicles.”

Duncan joined Econolite in 1973 and during his tenure has been directly involved in a number of transportation industry standards, including NEMA TS2, NTCIP, ATC, and SAE’s J2735 DSRC Message Set standard for connected vehicles. Over his illustrious career, he has been involved in many technical committees of industry associations such as ITE, NEMA, and TRB.
